The commander of the police force presents a report on the services provided for the pilgrims of Imam Hossain (PBUH)
Brigadier general Radan delivered a speech for the students and professors in SNDU, and said that we hope to advance the law enforcement diplomacy to the extent that includes not only the internal environment and the surrounding environment, but also beyond that.
According to the International Relations and Communication Center of SNDU, the Honorable Commander of the police force attended the gathering of students, researchers and professors of the SNDU on Monday, November 6, 2023, and gave a report about the Police Command mission, especially during the Arbaeen Hossaini days this year.
Brigadier General Dr. Radan, while appreciating the efforts of all his police colleagues, especially in the great mission of Arbaeen of Imam Hossein (PBUH), as well as the measures and plans made in the field of border security and facilitating the movement of pilgrims, said that this year, Iraq had maximum cooperation with the pilgrims of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and all the Iranian military and law enforcement organizations and bodies were busy preparing the infrastructure for the Arbaeen procession.
By referring to the architecture of the future police force, he said that Brigadier general Dr Ahmadi Moghadam had the most participation in the architecture of the police, and most of the events were followed and then guided by him.
While emphasizing on the police diplomacy, Brigadier General Radan stated, “We hope to advance police diplomacy to the extent that it includes not only the internal environment and the surrounding environment, but also beyond that. The field of police diplomacy is actually preventive measures that establish some kind of interactive relations so that we can use it and carry out missions like Arbaeen Hosseini (AS) well.”
He added that on previous Arbaeen, about 4 million and 100 thousand pilgrims crossed the borders of Iran and the same number returned safely to the country, which is a 15% increase in the number of pilgrims compared to that of last year. Therefore, all the borders through which the pilgrims crossed such as Shalamcheh, Mehran, Chazaba, Khosravi, Bashmaq and borders like Mirjaveh and Rendan, through which Pakistani pilgrims entered to reach Iraq, were considered as headquarters. It was a law enforcement operation, and despite saving 30% of the force compared to last year, this operation was implemented better than in the past.
He further added, during the Arbaeen days, we had many flights both in the field of security and in the field of resistance, as an example, we had at least 140 helicopter flights during these days.
He also pointed out that 96% of the pilgrims drove to the border in their private cars, which was welcomed by the police, since public transportation was not sufficient for this number of pilgrims. The safety of passengers on the road was insured, as well as providing parking spaces for their vehicles that were other important issues that were paid attention to.
