Brigadier General Ismail Ahmadi Moghadam, the esteemed President of the Supreme National Defense University stated, "The entrance examination for the SNDU was held in 23 fields of study and specializations, with a total of one thousand candidates reaching the final stage, because of the existence of various stages which is necessary to ensure the verification of qualifications, introduce relevant organizations, and approve positions that meet the eligibility criteria for participation in this examination.

The President of the Supreme National Defense University, announced that the examination was conducted across four faculties. He elaborated that the faculties of National Defense, National Security, Strategic Management, and School of Governance hosted examinations pertaining to specialized fields of study associated with national defense. These fields encompassed defense policy and strategic thinking, studies on Holy defense Studies, geopolitics, and national security.

The President of the Supreme National Defense University continued and emphasizing that the significance of the written examination as the initial phase, as the doctoral examination places a crucial emphasis on interviews. He further explained that for each field of study and branches, seven individuals would be accepted, resulting in a total of 160 students, provided they meet the necessary qualifications. He stated, "Three times the capacity of each class will proceed to the interview stage, consisting of the top performers in the written examination, with experts from that field present during the interview."

Here, primarily the levels of governance and strategic affairs of the country are taught. It is the responsibility of the professors to determine whether the individuals entering the program possess the qualifications of strategic thinking, intellectual capabilities, and necessary experience. Merely relying on the knowledge assessed in the written examination is insufficient. Two-thirds of the overall score is allocated to the interview stage. It should be noted that this format applies to all doctoral programs.

He further stated, "Our emphasis here is not solely on knowledge assessment. The interview stage focuses on insight, experience, strategic skills, and strategic thinking. The interviews commence after the results of the written examination are determined, and we hope to complete this stage by the end of spring and announce the final acceptances."

He further discussed the presence of women in the doctoral examination of the Supreme National Defense University, saying, "This is not the first time that women have participated in this examination. Last year, women also took part in these examinations. In the past, this university mainly focused on defense and security fields, which traditionally had low female representation. Therefore, individuals who enroll in this university, such as non-operational defense officials, governors from the Ministry of Interior, directors general, Ministry of Intelligence officials, ambassadors, and deputy ministers of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, were typically not women. We didn't pay much attention to gender because they needed to have that background. Therefore, they didn't meet the necessary qualifications due to the absence of such a background."

He added, "However, when the School of Governance and Management was established at SNDU, women were also able to participate in the doctoral examination. There are female advisors and directors general in the government who are not directly involved in defense and security matters. Therefore, last year, for the first time, permission was granted to hold a class at the Shahid Beheshti School of Governance, and this year, the same has been repeated."

He emphasized, "As we have not yet completed the approval process for new specialized fields of study, we are striving to be able to offer four specialized governance programs in addition to general governance. In at least two of these programs, women can enroll. This examination serves as a good starting point for women, who have shown a positive interest. We hope to contribute to enhancing the insight and skills of women."
