According to the Center for Communications and International Relations of the National Defense University, Brigadier General Dr. Esmaeil Ahmadi-Moghaddam, the head of the SNDU, in his first meeting with the students of this university in the year 1403 (Iranian calendar) or 2024, congratulated them on the New Year, the Eid al-Fitr, and the anniversary of the Iranian Armed Forces and the establishment of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

He referred to the history and background of the formation of the IRGC during the early years of the Islamic Revolution, the conspiracies of enemies to dissolve the army, and the special conditions and crises that could have undermined the success of the revolution. He emphasized the valuable role that these two divine forces played in neutralizing internal and external threats to the country and in consolidating the Islamic Revolution. Continuing on, the head of the SNDU stated that the enemies of the Islamic Republic had attempted to prevent the transformation of our country's armed forces from a land-based power to a naval power. He added, "Currently, the Islamic Republic's army has evolved from a dependent military force during the previous regime to an independent internal power that meets its own technical and equipment needs, and it holds a position among global powers." Furthermore, they added, "Today, the basis for comparison among world armies is not artillery and tanks, but the power of presence in the field, just like Hezbollah and Hamas, who have changed the equation in their battle against the Zionist regime and imposed their will." General Ahmadi Moghadam continued by referring to recent events and the Zionist regime's attack on the consulate of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Damascus and our country's retaliatory response, stating, "In the past years, the Zionist regime has attempted to provoke Iran into war through multiple attacks on the bases of our advisers in the IRGC and the Resistance Front in Syria." He further emphasized that the Zionists, by emphasizing the concept of " war  in shadow ," seek to conduct their operations below the threshold of tolerance and response, aiming for full-fledged war. He added, "In the action taken by the Islamic Republic of Iran against this regime, where one of its military bases was targeted, causing significant damage and casualties, based on the orders of the Supreme Leader of the Armed Forces, our goal was to provide a balanced response. Therefore, we decided to defend ourselves, which is not only legitimate under international law but also no one can ask us to refrain from it." And He stated that the action taken by the Islamic Republic of Iran was a demonstration of imposing its will on the enemy and changing the equation. He mentioned that they also accepted our deterrent equation and only acted within their own internal rule of 'the last shot should come from them,' carrying out an operation that yielded no results for them, and they even refused to take responsibility for it.
