The Supreme National Defense University organized a conference with the participation of eminent scholars, political leaders, and international dignitaries.

According to the report from the Center for Communications and International Relations of the Supreme National Defense University, the legal conference on the crimes of the Zionist regime and its supporters in Gaza was held on Sunday, May 20th, at the Supreme National Defense University, with the participation of Major General Dr. Esmail Ahmadi Moghaddam, the President of the Supreme National Defense University, as well as various academic and scholarly figures, in addition to the presence of political and international personalities.

In this session, Major General Ahmadi Moghaddam, while emphasizing the effectiveness of such conferences, stated: "I emphasize that these meetings can be a part of our activities against the Zionist regime and in support of Palestine." He added: "Until we reach the ultimate goal, which is the liberation of Palestine and the holy city of Jerusalem from the usurping Zionists, it is necessary that the issues and topics raised in these types of meetings be pursued continuously and practically."

In the continuation of this session, a number of international political and legal personalities expressed their views on the various aspects of the crimes committed by the Zionist regime and its supporters throughout the history of Zionist occupation in the Palestinian territories, particularly the crimes committed by Israel and its supporters in the Gaza Strip over the past 8 months since the start of the Al-Aqsa Intifada operation.

Professor Mahmoud Al-Hanafi, an international law and human rights expert from Palestine, emphasized the Zionist regime's disregard for UN resolutions. He called on states to unite in rejecting the Zionist regime, stating that while the UN General Assembly has been unable to prevent Israel's actions, there are legal avenues to take action against the Zionist regime. He stressed that this is a legal battle that must be believed in.Dr. Samih Barkats Ahmad, the former Secretary-General of the Jordan Bar Association, highlighted the role of the United States in the origin and continuation of the war in Gaza. He stated that the Iranian revolution has clearly defined its policy by closing the Israeli embassy, while the West is pursuing sedition. He said that the common ground is that the West is the enemy of all people in the region. He mentioned that Iran has made many martyrs in defending Palestine and Jerusalem, including Martyr Qassem Soleimani and recent martyrs in Syria. The key themes here are the international community's failure to hold Israel accountable, the need for concerted legal action against the Zionist regime, and Iran's role in supporting the Palestinian cause, including the sacrifices of figures like Qassem Soleimani. The speakers are critical of the West, especially the United States, for enabling Israel's actions.

the Jordanian legal expert mentioned the Zionist regime's attack on the Iranian diplomatic center in Damascus on 1st April 2024.He stated that the Zionist aggression against the Iranian embassy was a blatant act of aggression. Iran had warned that it would respond to this attack, and it did follow through with a response.

The Jordanian legal expert described Iran's retaliatory drone and missile strike on Zionist targets as a "massive response" - a major show of force. He stated that this was a significant display of power by Iran in response to the attack on its diplomatic facilities in Damascus. He added that Jordan can also play an effective role in supporting the Palestinian people and confronting the Zionist regime, through demonstrations and other means.

The Jordanian expert stated: "The people of Jordan have no inherent differences in their hearts with their Arab and Iranian brethren, and the right to self-determination, which is emphasized in international law, grants this right to the Palestinians to confront the occupier. All international resolutions stress the rights to self-determination and territory."

Sergey Baburin, a Russian politician, statesman, and legal scholar, who was another guest at this session, emphasized in his remarks that the crimes occurring in Gaza must be documented. He stated: "Legal files must be created for each and every martyr." Referring to all the unimplemented resolutions regarding Palestine, he said that a new resolution must be proposed, with clearly defined new borders, and this must not be done by Israel.

Baburin stated: "Palestine must not be divided into two parts and must have a single, unified state, otherwise the peace process will not be implemented. Another issue is the occupied Jerusalem, which must not be the capital of Israel." He reiterated that in a new UN Security Council resolution, the determination of the capital of Palestine must be specified.

Ms. Anjum Hamid, a renowned Pakistani lawyer, in her turn, criticized the fact that only five specific countries have veto power in the United Nations Security Council, stating: "Why are the countries whose weapons are supplied by the United States currently martyring the Palestinians?" She said that the Americans are supporting the Zionists in the massacre of the Palestinian people. Criticizing the double standards of certain countries regarding the ongoing events in Gaza, she said: "We have never witnessed such an incident. There is a brutal aggression in Palestine, and the member states of the United Nations are acting in a hypocritical manner."

Referring to the massive public protests in the United States and Europe against the crimes of Israel, she stated: "The unlawful discrimination in the United Nations must come to an end, and this conference can contribute to raising public awareness." Ms. Anjum Hamid, noting that international criminal institutions could take action against Israel, added: "We must fight for the rights of the oppressed Palestinian people, and all countries must raise their voices for freedom against Israel."

She continued: "It must be said that Israel is a terrorist state, and we Muslims must all stand united together."

Sheikh Yusuf al-Nasser, the President of the Council of Religious Scholars of Iraq, also stated: "The Islamic Republic of Iran, under the leadership of Imam Khomeini, laid the foundation for the struggle against Israel, and the Supreme Leader has continued this path admirably." He described the Islamic Republic of Iran as the flag-bearer of the Axis of Resistance in the struggle against the Zionist regime, and stated that this struggle will not be limited within the framework of the Axis of Resistance. Al-Nasser, anticipating an intensification of the future confrontation with the Zionist regime and its supporters, emphasized: "We are on the threshold of an even greater confrontation, and we must be united."

The academic and university figures, as well as the political and international personalities participating in this conference, were from the countries of Iraq, Palestine, Russia, Brazil, Indonesia, Tunisia, Pakistan, Algeria, Jordan, Syria, Nigeria, Lebanon, Ghana, Kenya, Zimbabwe, Uganda, and Egypt.
