The esteemed delegation from the National Defense University of China visited the Supreme National Defense University of Iran.
According to the report from the Communications and International Relations Center of the SNDU, a high-level study delegation from the National Defence University of the People's Liberation Army of China, led by Lieutenant General "Wu Feng Ming", President of the Military Management Academy of the University, accompanied by 42 doctoral students holding the ranks of Lieutenant General and Senior Colonel, visited the S.N.D.U of the I.R. of Iran on Wednesday, June 21, 2024 for the purpose of the visit was to enhancing bilateral cooperation and familiarizing themselves with the capabilities of the Supreme National Defence University.
At the outset of this visit, the Chinese delegation paid their respects at the grave of the unknown soldiers of the University, honoring the sacred memory of the martyrs of the Sacred Defence, thereby commencing their official tour of the University.
Brigadier General Dr. Esmail Ahmadi Moghaddam, the President of SNDU, welcomed the visiting Chinese delegation. He first held a private meeting with the head of the delegation and several senior officials, noting that such meetings could pave the way for the expansion of educational relations and the advancement of strategic ties between the two countries. He then emphasised the importance of strengthening bilateral relations as well as educational and research collaborations between the two universities.
Referring to the opportunities available for foreign students at the University, he expressed the hope that in the upcoming academic year, military students from China would also enrol at the SNDU to pursue their studies.
In the continuation of this visit, the Chinese delegation convened in the conference hall of the International College at the Supreme National Defence University, where they received comprehensive explanations, presented in the form of an applied research study, pertaining to the roots, consequences, objectives, and implementation of the Operation Eternal Promise.
Subsequently, Brigadier General Dr. Esmail Ahmadi Moghaddam, the President of SNDU, and Lieutenant General Wu Feng Ming, the head of the visiting Chinese delegation, delivered speeches respectively, highlighting the significance of this visit. Initially, the President of the Supreme National Defence University provided explanations regarding the regional conditions and the signs of the decline of the West, as well as the occupying Quds regime. He added that since the emergence of this regime on the international stage as a country, instability and insecurity had engulfed the entire region. However, with the birth of Hezbollah and the Resistance Axis, the trend of strengthening this regime has been reversed, and this trend is now declining and deteriorating.
Dr. Ahmadi Moghaddam also mentioned the projects that China is pursuing in the region, and he advised and reminded the Chinese delegation, including its President, that the Islamic Republic of Iran is at the center of the West Asian region. He suggested that it would be better for the People's Republic of China to take this importance into greater consideration, as it could yield more benefits, given that the Islamic Republic of Iran possesses a wealth of technologies, and our country's outlook is oriented towards the East.
The President of the Supreme National Defence University also referred to the Islamic Republic of Iran's policy of neighbourliness, and the tensions that arose during the imposed war with the Iraqi Baath regime, which led to the eruption of the 8-year war. He highlighted the current trajectory of this policy, adding that our country currently does not have any challenges or tensions with any of its neighbours, and it consistently pursues a policy of strengthening neighbourly relations.
He further stated that Iran, Russia, and China, as three important and influential countries in the region, can establish constructive and non-competitive relations with one another. He added that the Americans are trying to disrupt this relationship, and therefore, the need to strengthen these ties among the three countries is felt more than ever. During the continuation of this meeting, the head of the visiting Chinese delegation expressed great satisfaction with the opportunity created for this delegation to visit the Supreme National Defence University, and considered this opportunity very valuable. In his remarks regarding the points made by the President of the Supreme National Defence University, he stated that China and Iran are two friendly and brotherly countries, and they have many common points.
He further elaborated that these two countries, with their long-standing histories, have industrious peoples, which has enabled both countries to progress rapidly and become nations that are advocates of global peace.
General Feng Ming stated that Iran and China have always followed the path of peace and stability. He added that the relationship between the two countries has deep roots, and their shared regional and international interests have further strengthened these ties.
At the conclusion of the meeting and visit, the insignia of the two universities were exchanged, and a tour of the faculties and library of the Supreme National Defence University was conducted.
