According to the report of the Center for Communications and International Relations of the Supreme National Defense University, the ceremony honoring the outgoing and incoming political-ideological heads of the National Defense University was held on Saturday, June 22,2024 at this university.
At this ceremony, Hojjat al-Islam wal-Muslimeen Qovahi, the Political-Ideological Head of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, highlighted the importance of resorting to the recommended supplications and visitations from the infallible Imams, peace be upon them, particularly the supplication of Jami'a Kabira and the Ziyarat of Amin Allah, and referred to verses from the Holy Quran pertaining to the event of Ghadir Khumm and expounded upon the virtues of Hazrat Ali, peace be upon him.
In the continuation of his speech, he referred to the importance of the presidential election at this juncture and introduced it as an obligatory duty, stating that the election candidates must be cautious not to negate others in their campaigns, but rather pursue a course to establish themselves.
The Political-Ideological Head of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, in reference to the moral character of the late President, Ayatollah Raissi, who was described as a simple-living and devout individual, enumerated four primary responsibilities of the Political-Ideological Head of the SNDU, outlined four key duties such as: safeguarding the values of the Revolution, caring for the university's personnel, nurturing the students, and supporting the families of the university staff.
At the beginning of this ceremony, Brigadier General Dr. Esmaeil Ahmadi Moghaddam, the President of the SNDU, while greeting and congratulating on religious holidays and remembering the martyrs of service, especially the late President, Ayatollah Raissi and Hojjat al-Islam wal-Muslimin Al-Hashemi, addressed some points regarding the presidential election and stated: The movement that was trying to revive the silent votes in the country through polarization was not successful.
They continued: Adherence to moral principles, steadfastness, and refusal to engage in political polarization are among the characteristics that have maintained all the electoral candidates within the discursive framework of the system during this period.
The President of the SNDU, noting that public opinion in society is gradually taking shape regarding the electoral candidates, stated: The candidates must transform their competition into camaraderie, and a reduction in the level of disputes, rather than hostilities, can lead to an increase in voter turnout.
Brigadier General Dr. Ahmadi Moghaddam, in the continuation of his remarks, referred to the country's fundamental policies, including domestic cohesion, enhancing national power, strengthening the Axis of Resistance, and managing tensions with the West while looking eastward. He added: Whoever assumes the presidency must pursue these policies, and it is better if this path does not change, and the sole focus should be on increasing the achievements along this trajectory to facilitate further progress.
At the conclusion of this ceremony, tribute was paid to Hojjat al-Islam wal-Muslimeen Dr. Mohammad-Hassan Dehghan, the former Ideological-Political Director of the university, and the decree appointing Hojjat al-Islam wal-Muslimeen Mahmoud Pakizeh as the new Ideo-Political Director of the National Defense University was presented to him
