Holding the Second Malik Ashtar Festival and Introducing the More Successful Parts of the Supreme National Defense University

According to the International Relations and Communication Center of the Supreme National Defense University, on the morning of Monday, 19 September 1403, the second festival was held at the Martyr Abshenasan Hall for introducing the more successful ranks of the Supreme National Defense University in a conference called “Malik Ashtar Festival”, organized by the initiative of the Vice President for Planning, Program and Budget, who is responsible for the general oversight of this university.

In this ceremony, Brigadier General Dr. Ismail Ahmadi Moghadam, President of the Supreme National Defense University, paying tribute to the memory of the martyrs of the Black Friday (1978) and commemorating the death anniversary of Ayatollah Taleghani, said: The memory of these loved ones is cherished because they played a special role in the establishment of the Islamic Revolution. We are now continuing the path of these martyrs and scholars.

Brigadier General Ismail Ahmadi Moghaddam, the President of the Supreme National Defense University, stated: The Islamic Revolution, which has just entered its fifth decade, and thanks to the absolute authority of the Velayat-e Faghih (Guardianship of the Islamic Jurist) has achieved greater growth and dynamism, and for this reason, we must appreciate the blood of the martyrs.

Brigadier General Ahmadi Moghaddam added: When we compare the initial days of the formation of the Islamic Revolution with the path it has traveled so far, we should bow in gratitude for the greatness it has achieved. The president of the Supreme National Defense University continued: The enemies are busy distorting the achievements of this Revolution and making them seem other that what it realistically is. They want to insinuate that the Islamic revolution has launched the people backwards. However, the truth is something different; because if their claims were true, the accursed Prime Minister of the Zionist regime would not have admitted that “Iran has surrounded us and we should not let it gain power”. He stated that “Israel” is the garrison of the Western camp, using all the media, money, politics and military power, and added: Today, the problem of the Zionists is the one of survival. They have been on the battlefield for nearly a year and claim to be fighting for survival; it means reaching the point where their main Problem lies, that is “Nonexistence”. Therefore, when some people reach such a stage, they don't care about any kind of spending; exactly like what the Zionist regime does, who no longer care about (their) failing economy, and (their) loss of international status, etc.

In another part of his speech, Brigadier General Ahmadi Moghadam pointed to the services provided by the Martyr "Namjooy" and said: When the IRGC was being established, some commanders from the Army were responsible for the training of the IRGC forces. Because at that time, a bond had been established between the Revolutionary fighters and the loved ones in the Army, who were striving for the security of the Revolution. For this very reason, commanders such as Namjooy, Kolahdooz, and Sayyad Shirazi played the main role in laying the rails of this route, and the continuation of this process during the Hholy Defense period led to great victories. However, at some point, occurrence of disagreement between the Army and the IRGC affected the process of achieving great victories in the Holy Defense.

As for the activities of this university, the president of the Supreme National Defense University also said: In order to meet the Supreme Commander–in–Chief’s order that stated that “the goal of this university should be to build Islamic civilization, a comprehensive plan for the Higher National Defense University was prepared and approved in order that we may adjust the existing tools in the university in accordance with the goal. Therefore, our mission is to contribute to the victory of the Islamic revolution and the materialization of the Iranian-Islamic civilization. He continued: This year, we have about 300 foreign students coming from 10 countries in this university, which, together with the other students studying in this university, add up to a population of 1,000 people. Of course, it is not the case that only (academic) degrees are awarded here, but that knowledge, manners and (behavior) models are also transferred.

Brigadier General Ahmadi Moghaddam added: Foreign students who come to study in this university, pay material costs for their education, sometimes followed by political consequences. Because they believe that the education offered here is even better than what NATO does. The President of the Supreme National Defense University added: The scientific products of this university all have their applications. This means that the public studies and dissertations of the students are all ordered and each of our doctoral students solves one of the country's problems; Therefore, we provide a great help to different departments in the decision-making system.

In another part of this ceremony, Dr. Ismail Mansouri Larijani, a writer and researcher of Islamic teachings and the Holy Defense, gave a speech and stated: the biggest problem in the human world is related to two areas, namely lust and anger; in other words, usually, people bestowed with power and wealth are somehow involved in these two issues; they will be considered as Saberin (“patients” according to the Holy Koran) only if their sensualism doesn’t bring itself upon them.

He also added: But the reason why corruption and destruction in the society does not disappear is that we are not maintainers of Salat (namely, we have failed to establish and institutionalize prayer), because if we were, maintaining Salat would have made us avoid evil deeds.

Mansuri Larijani added: I hope that in our governance we can make Malik Ashtars (namely, to develop characters like Malik Ashtar) for the holy system of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the future. Dr. Larijani pointed out the virtues and characteristics of Malik Ashtar, that can serve as a role model for all people, especially military personnel and commanders of the armed forces. From among these comes, first and foremost, separation from everything other than God, turning away from sensual desires and drawing close to God.

At the beginning of this ceremony, the vice president for planning, program and budget of the Supreme National Defense University pointed out the objectives of holding this conference and delivered explanations about the way this conference was organized and the evaluations that were made later. At the end of this ceremony, high-ranking commanders of the armed forces, as well as the son of Martyr Major General Seyyed Musa Namjooy, as well as 7 more successful parts of the Supreme National Defense University, were each honored with a certificate of appreciation and a statue.
