Gathering of Heads and Secretaries of the Crisis Management Group at theSupreme National Defense University

According to the Communication and International Relations Center, a gathering of heads, secretaries, advisors of the Crisis Management Group, and some experts from the group was held on the morning of Tuesday, March 5, 2025, in the Shahid Beheshti Conference Hall of the Strategic Research Center at the Supreme National Defense University.

In this meeting, Dr. Seyed Mehdi Hashemi, the Head of the Group, began by welcoming attendees and congratulating them on the blessed month of Ramadan. He emphasized the activities of the working groups within the Crisis Management Group and the necessity of fostering cohesion among them. Following this, Engineer Rahmatollah Shishegar, the meeting's secretary, provided explanations regarding the agenda items.

Engineer Joudi, the Deputy of the Housing Foundation of the Islamic Revolution and Head of the Reconstruction and Recovery Working Group of the Strategic Crisis Management Group, stated in the meeting that documenting and recording the experiences and actions of past reconstruction efforts is a priority for the Housing Foundation. He emphasized the necessity of planning for the reconstruction of metropolitan areas and highlighted the need for legal work in the field of crisis management, particularly concerning the restoration of affected regions. Furthermore, he mentioned that they would seek assistance from the working group to prepare initial reports on incidents, disasters, and reconstruction efforts.

Dr. Nasiri, the Head of the Tehran Crisis Management Organization and Chair of the Preparedness and Response Working Group, suggested during the meeting that the titles of the working groups be revised in accordance with the Crisis Management Organization Law. He added that proposed program titles would be prepared and presented.

Additionally, Dr. Mahirizi, the Head of the Scientific Applied Institute of the Red Crescent and Chair of the Fundamental Studies Working Group, spoke about the plans for the upcoming year for her group, including the use of artificial intelligence in crisis management. She proposed that a calendar of internal and international meetings in the field of crisis management be created, enabling colleagues from the group at the university to present their papers.

Brigadier General Dr. Azadi, the Director of Crisis Management Training at the SNDU , announced during the meeting that, thanks to the wise leadership of the university's president, for the first time this year, the university will admit students at the doctoral level in crisis management. He stated that the capacities of the working groups within the Crisis Management Group will be utilized for educational and research purposes.

Dr. Salimi, the Head of the Prediction and Alertness Working Group of the Strategic Crisis Management Group, also addressed the meeting, stating that a database of managers and experts in the field of crisis management is currently being prepared and will be delivered to the group once established.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Dr. Hashemi, the Head of the Crisis Management Group, stated that public and managerial training programs of the Crisis Management Group should be appropriately presented on the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB). He emphasized the importance of utilizing artificial intelligence in crisis management and called for support to the crisis management training group at the university in developing educational materials, content, and the introduction of crisis management instructors at various levels.
