Today, the world, including the people of the United States, is facing a "paradox."

According to the Center for Communications and International Relations, Brigadier General Dr. Ismail Ahmadi Moghadam, the head of the SNDU, met with officials, staff, and faculty members on the first working day of the university, where he delivered a speech. On Saturday, April 16, 2025, during the first gathering of university staff in the new year, Brigadier General Dr. Ismail Ahmadi Moghadam addressed the officials, faculty, and staff of the University, congratulating them on the new year. He referenced the verse "Indeed, with hardship comes ease,” stating that hardship and ease coexist, and that this verse reflects the current situation in our country. He emphasized that it is a test for the wealthy to help the poor.

He continued by saying that sometimes certain actions, such as buying and hoarding foreign currencies and dollars to preserve capital, lead to the impoverishment of the people and harm to society, which ultimately has a detrimental effect on the people and the economy of the country.

Referring to the threats posed by the President of the United States, the head of University stated that today the world, including the people of the United States, is facing a "paradox," as Trump's imposition of tariffs on both friends and foes has led to uncertainty even among America's allies. He added that Trump's contradictory policies, along with his noise and rhetoric, have contributed to the emergence and intensification of these doubts within the global community.

Brigadier General Ahmadi Moghadam discussed the university's objectives for the new year, stating that they need to move beyond quantitative measures and focus on enhancing quality, aiming for the development of software solutions. He further announced that they have even planned to hold post-doctoral programs.

The head of the National Defense University added that in this endeavor, we must leverage global experiences, update content, and focus on the production of strategic sciences as well as content creation and the continual updating of faculty knowledge. Dr. Ismail Ahmadi Moghadam, referring to the new year being designated as the "Year of Investment for Production" by the Supreme Leader, addressed the existing imbalances in the country regarding energy and water. He stated that, in line with the motto of the new year, we must also tackle investment imbalances, emphasizing that the National Defense University should, like in previous years, assist the government by providing appropriate solutions in this area.

Before the speech of the head of the National Defense University, Hojjatoleslam Wal-Muslimeen Mahmoud Pakizeh, the head of the ideological-political office of the university, referenced the coincidence of the year 1404 with the spring of the Quran and the motto declared for the new year by the Supreme Leader. He highlighted the university's role in achieving this motto, stating that the University can effectively fulfill its role as a center for the production of strategic science in elucidating security and the importance of investment in enhancing economic security and addressing the challenges faced by the people.

At the end of this ceremony, several retired staff members of the university were honored and recognized for their contributions.
