Opening ceremony of the First Evaluation and Development Center for Commanders and Managers of the Armed Forces General Staff

According to the Public Relations and International Relations Center of the Supreme National Defense University, the Evaluation and Development Center for Commanders and Managers of the General Staff has been established to identify talents, capacities, and enhance the capabilities and competencies of personnel in leadership and management. This initiative focuses on merit-based selection, appointment, and nurturing. The opening ceremony for its inaugural session was held on Wednesday morning, May 14, 2025, specifically for the 2022 cohort of doctoral students and the National Defense course. The event was attended by the head of the SNDU and several senior managers from the General Staff's Inspection and Safety departments.
In this ceremony, the esteemed head of the university elaborated on the significance and high objectives of establishing the Evaluation and Development Center for Commanders and Managers of the General Staff. He provided guidance for carrying out the center's mission in the most effective manner.
A summary meeting of the aforementioned event was also held on the afternoon of the same day, attended by the head and senior managers from the Inspection and Safety departments of the General Staff, as well as the head of the Human Resources Operations Center and managers from the Strategic Management Research Institute.
The evaluation and development centers utilize multifaceted methods (such as structured interviews, psychological tests, management games, job simulations, etc.) and are considered very important and effective tools for identifying, assessing, and developing the competencies of managers in military and security organizations. They provide a fair, objective, and documented evaluation of the abilities, capacities, and competencies of personnel.
The results of the evaluation centers not only enhance commanders' self-awareness regarding their leadership style, capabilities, and areas for improvement, but also create opportunities for their personal and professional growth. Additionally, they assist organizations in appointments, promotions, transfers, and the delegation of responsibilities.
