Statement from the Supreme National Defense University on the Occasion of the Coming of Basij Week
According to the Center for Communications and International Relations, the SNDU has issued a statement in conjunction with the arrival of Azar 5th (November 26th) and Basij Week. The text of this statement is as follows:
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
"And We wish to show kindness to those who have been weak in the land and to make them leaders (in Faith) and to make them inheritors."
Basij Week in the year 1404, following remarkable and civilization-building events of the twelve-day Sacred Defense, which marked a pivotal point in the history of Iran and the world, the Basij warriors shone brightly in the arenas of "good deeds, so strive in good works and [to choose] one of the two virtues." Many of them, following the example of their Lord, hastened to meet their beloved and became martyrs, while others continue to wait in hope.
This week, coinciding with the days of Fatimiyyah and the martyrdom of Lady Fatimah al-Zahra (peace be upon her), as well as the funeral of 300 martyrs from the Sacred Defense era, represents a unique Basij Week. The multitude of Basijis, members of God’s devoted army, chose the path to God through their devotion and love for Lady Fatimah al-Zahra (peace be upon her), adorning their foreheads with headbands inscribed with "O Zahra" (peace be upon her) and dedicating themselves to God Almighty.
The emergence of a new and powerful Basij ideology, which reflects the insight and deep vision of Imam Khomeini (may God have mercy on him), strengthened the immense vessel of the Islamic Revolution against the turbulent seas of sedition and enmity more than ever before. Through loyalty to the leadership and obedience to the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution (may his shadow be blessed), and by gaining more experience, the Basijis prepared themselves to counter the plots of the enemies of the Islamic Revolution. They expanded their efforts across various fronts of service in diverse jihadist domains, becoming a source of hope for the people of the country through equality and solidarity. This also intensified the fears of oppressors, tyrants, and malevolent forces. God willing, this path of civilization-building will continue uninterrupted until the emergence of the Awaited Mahdi (may God hasten his reappearance).
The Supreme National Defense University, while offering condolences on the martyrdom of Lady Fatimah al-Zahra (peace be upon her), commemorates Basij Week and honors the memory of Basij martyrs across various fronts of the Islamic Revolution, particularly the martyrs of the twelve-day Sacred Defense. The University emphasizes the necessity of promoting the pure Basij culture in all domains, including cultural, economic, political, scientific and technological, social, and security fields. It hopes for the continued successes of the noble tree of Basij under the guidance of the Awaited Imam (may God hasten his reappearance) and the wise leadership of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Khamenei (may his shadow be blessed), seeking these blessings from the Almighty God.
