Holding a commemoration ceremony for the anniversary of victory over ISIS at Supreme National Defense University.

According to the Center for Communications and International Relations, the ceremony—attended by guest students from friendly and Muslim countries—honored the memory of the sacrifices of the Resistance Front fighters and highlighted the pivotal role of the Islamic Republic of Iran in countering terrorism.

At the beginning of the program, the representative of the Iraqi students congratulated the anniversary of the dismantling of ISIS’s notorious self-proclaimed caliphate in the region, particularly in Iraq, and expressed appreciation for the solidarity between the two nations.

In continuation, the television documentary “Neighbor” was screened for the audience; this documentary narrates the strategic assistance of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the presence of military advisors, and the unique role of Martyr Lieutenant General Haj Qasem Soleimani in the battlefield against ISIS and in the liberation of the occupied areas.

In the main part of the ceremony, Brigadier General Mostafa Moradian, Head of the International Faculty, elaborated on the conspiracies of global arrogance led by the United States in recent decades. Referring to the attempts to redraw the map of West Asia, he stated that the creation of ISIS by the United States, which some senior American officials have also admitted, was carried out with the aim of fragmenting the region, creating chaos in Muslim lands, and ultimately ensuring the security of the Zionist regime.

He went on to highlight the vital role of the religious authority and the popular resistance, adding that "the brave Iraqi youth, by answering the call of the esteemed Iraqi religious authority and through their steadfastness and perseverance, managed to overcome this major international threat with victory and dignity".

Also, he added “In this battle, the role of the esteemed martyrs Haj Qasem Soleimani and Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, along with the sacrifices of the Iraqi armed forces and the Iranian advisors, will remain eternal in history”. The Dean of the International Faculty emphasized that “the pure blood of the martyrs of both nations, shed in the trenches of defending Islam, has deepened the bond of brotherhood between the two countries, Iran and Iraq”.

At the end, he emphasized the necessity of vigilance against new seditions and warned that the conspiracies of the United States and the illegitimate Zionist regime to secure their sinister interests in the region are still ongoing, and this requires the necessary alertness in various dimensions.

At the conclusion of this ceremony, on the occasion of the anniversary of this great victory, the “Iran–Iraq Friendship Cake” was distributed among the students.
