2) Specialized Session on “Clarifying Narratives and Responding to Doubts of the 12-Day War with the Zionist Regime” at the Supreme National Defense University
According to the Center for Communications and International Relations, a specialized session on “Clarifying Narratives and Responding to Doubts Regarding the 12-Day War between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Zionist Regime” was held on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at the Supreme National Defense University. The event, organized in commemoration of the sixth anniversary of the martyrdom of Major General Haj Qasem Soleimani (may God bless his soul), was attended by a number of prominent domestic and international scholars, thinkers, and figures supporting the resistance in the region and around the world.
At the beginning of this session, which was held with the aim of elucidating the strategic dimensions of the war of narratives and examining the enemy’s media and cognitive warfare against the Islamic Republic of Iran, Dr. Ali Alizadeh, a member of the Advisory Policy Council of the World Forum for Islamic Awakening, read out the message of Dr. Ali-Akbar Velayati, Secretary-General of the Forum. Then, Major General Dr. Esmaeel Ahmadi-Moghaddam, Commander of the Supreme National Defense University, extended a welcome to all guests, congratulated attendees on the blessed month of Rajab and the beginning of the new Gregorian year, and wished success and prosperity for all, especially the oppressed people of Palestine. He stated: “After the collapse of the Soviet Union, the United States emerged as the world’s leading power. The bipolar world became unipolar, and under the claim of global management, it expanded its interventions without adherence to international rules, even ignoring United Nations mandates and disregarding established norms. Following 9/11, through military invasions of West Asia—particularly Afghanistan and Iraq—and the heavy damage inflicted upon the people of the region, as well as the crimes committed, it ultimately faced defeat and was forced to leave the region in a manner tantamount to flight.
He emphasized: “Today, Trump claims that they have spent trillions of dollars in the region without achieving any results, whereas previously they were beating the drum of victory.”
The Commander of the Supreme National Defense University, referring to the upcoming anniversary of the martyrdom of Major General Haj Qasem Soleimani, stated: “We honor the memory of Haj Qasem, who was a central commander in the struggle against Western domination in the region. Trump’s enmity toward Soleimani is not without reason, as he thwarted their operations. They sought to introduce a new phase in our region through terrorism, which has subsided but continues to this day.”
He continued: “Other developments have occurred in recent years. After the events of October 7, the region underwent significant changes, which must be viewed within the context of the global transition from a U.S.-centric unipolar world to a multipolar one. In the Russia-Ukraine war, we are also witnessing Russia achieving victories against the whole of Europe.”
Referring to the U.S. National Security Strategy, he stated: “Trump’s portrayal of Europe is that of a failed entity—lacking the capacity for self-defense and plagued by migration and security crises. The document itself even emphasizes doubts about whether Europe will continue to exist over the next 20 years, effectively abandoning it and shifting focus to the American continent. Russia, which was initially predicted to be defeated, has today emerged as the victor on the battlefield.”
He stated: “Periods of decline and the end of great powers are inherently perilous and dangerous. Powers in decline tend to behave more aggressively in an attempt to preserve their influence. The U.S. National Security Strategy refers to the conclusion of eighty years of wars and calls for an end to such conflicts, emphasizing only its commitment to supporting Israel’s existence. However, what Netanyahu is pursuing is explicitly opposed in the U.S. National Security Strategy. Even regarding Iran, the document states that Iran’s missile and nuclear capabilities will not be allowed to pose a threat to the United States. Moreover, energy—which was the primary reason for America’s presence in the region—is no longer a necessity, and the strategy calls for an end to these wars in the region.”
He added: “Following October 7, the wars were no longer confined to Palestine and spread to other regions. Seemingly, after the attacks on Lebanon, Gaza, and Palestine, and following the collapse of the Syrian government, a sense of victory took hold among the Zionists, leading them to believe they would prevail by attacking Iran. However, their myth of invincibility was shattered in the attack on Iran.”
Brigadier Ahmadi-Moghaddam also stated: “Their primary objective was to eliminate the issue of Palestine, which they failed to achieve despite U.S. support and acts of killing and plunder. Contrary to their expectations, Iran has emerged even stronger than it was before the war, and today they are concerned about a preemptive operation by the Islamic Republic of Iran. In reality, what was intended to establish Israel as the hegemon in West Asia has failed.”
The President of the Supreme National Defense University also stated: “The process of normalization in the region had been advancing due to the conciliatory approach of certain currents; however, it has not only come to a halt, but we are now witnessing an arms race. Today, the focus of this arms race is directed at the Zionist regime. The Zionist regime constitutes the central axis and the primary threat.”
He stated: “After two years, the resistance remains at the height of its power, and Iran remains firmly in place. Although blows have been received, everything remains intact and in its proper position, and the Palestinian cause continues. By contrast, within the Zionist regime, the economy has suffered serious damage and military expenditures have increased. A regime whose objective was to extend from the Nile to the Euphrates has been reduced to mere survival behind concrete walls and under the Iron Dome.”
He emphasized: “In the realm of domestic politics, they are facing numerous difficulties. In foreign affairs, Israel had sought to transform itself into a legitimate state; today, however, it has regressed so severely that it has become an illegitimate and anti-human regime. At the same time, we are witnessing a global convergence of public support for the Palestinian people.”
At the conclusion, the President of the Supreme National Defense University stated: “We must remain vigilant, as negligence leads to missed opportunities; yet opportunities are also hidden within these very threats. Wherever a threat escalates, a new opportunity is born from within it. Dear colleagues and experts are the narrators who can sincerely clarify the narratives and respond to the doubts and media falsehoods propagated by the Zionist regime. We must not allow them to escape the trap in which they are caught. I wish success and well-being to all friends.”
Continuing the session, Dr. Yahya Ghaddar, Secretary-General of the World Forum for Supporting the Resistance, delivered a speech and stated: “Within the axis of resistance and the World Forum for Supporting the Resistance, representatives from 87 countries across five continents are present. This reflects the capacity and significance of the resistance forces from both a field and physical perspective. We must remain vigilant and recognize that the enemies have no red lines when it comes to destroying nations. Therefore, supporting and backing Iran is a necessity, as the Islamic Republic of Iran constitutes the main pillar of the resistance.”
He emphasized: “We have entered a battle whose true meaning and nature of resistance many may still not fully understand. In this forum, we are present with diverse ideologies, beliefs, and ideas, and regardless of our doctrinal differences, we strive to offer sincere service to the resistance front.”
The Secretary-General of the World Forum for Supporting the Resistance highlighted the role of allied countries and added: “Countries such as China and Russia, despite their political alignment, have so far been unable to play an active role in the field of resistance.”
Dr. Ghaddar noted: “A heavy responsibility rests on the shoulders of the Islamic Republic of Iran, as Iran bears the duty of supporting the resistance movement.”
The Secretary-General of the World Forum for Supporting the Resistance stated: “In the overt aggression against Iran, Gaza, and Yemen, the Zionist aggressor regime clearly realized that it lacks the capability to take effective action against Iran.”
Referring to the words of Imam Ali (peace be upon him), he stated: “A nation that accepts humiliation is led to destruction. We must remain vigilant and recognize that the enemies have no red lines when it comes to destroying nations. Therefore, supporting and backing Iran is a necessity, as the Islamic Republic of Iran constitutes the main pillar of the resistance.”
He also stated: “We seek a just peace, while the Zionist regime and the West, under the banner of human rights, commit crimes. We must proceed within the framework of international law and remind the world of the fact that the Zionist regime operates in violation of the United Nations Charter.”
The Secretary-General of the World Forum for Supporting the Resistance concluded: “Comprehensive support must be provided in all arenas where the resistance forces are present.”
Continuing the session, Major General Dr. Mostafa Moradian, President of the International Faculty of the University, addressed various aspects of the 12-day war between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Zionist regime, as well as its consequences and outcomes.
The session ultimately concluded with a discussion and exchange of views among the participating members and the Commander of the Supreme National Defense University.
