Commander of the Supreme National Defense University: We Strive to Find the Right Answer to the Governance Puzzle

According to the Communications and International Relations Center, Brigadier General Esmaeel Ahmadi-Moghadam, Commander of the Supreme National Defense University, on the sidelines of the Doctoral and Master’s examinations in Governance at the university, spoke about the examination procedures and the scientific outlook of the Supreme National Defense University for the next five years. He stated that in this examination, students competed in 24 doctoral fields of specialization, and the selected candidates will be able to pursue their studies at this university.

He added that most of the candidates who participated in this examination are civilians and work in various organizations; moreover, some of the participants in the field of Governance took part at both the doctoral and master’s levels, which is related to the Shahid Beheshti School of Governance at this university.

The SNDU Commander, regarding the outlook and mechanisms for the university’s progress in the coming years, emphasized: “Today, the most important challenge for our country in achieving the desired state is the challenge of management and governance. In fact, our country possesses abundant human and natural resources, and therefore attention to the issue of governance is essential and of utmost importance.”

He stated: “Our country has a unique geographical and geopolitical position and also enjoys a very favorable transit situation; however, the question of why all these resources and capacities have not elevated us to a distinguished position can be considered the key to the governance puzzle and the mechanisms of governance.”

Brigadier General Esmaeel Ahmadi-Moghadam said: “The Supreme National Defense University established the field of Governance several years ago, and our effort is to find the right answer to the governance puzzle.”

He recalled: “Governance is different from management, and a person studying in this field must understand Iran’s national interests and geographical position, recognize opportunities, and utilize these circumstances to advance the affairs of the country.”

The Commander of the Supreme National Defense University, emphasizing that understanding national policies is of special importance, noted: “Our effort is for the Supreme National Defense University to reach a position where it can play an appropriate role in the formulation of national and security policies, and I believe we are moving toward this goal at a suitable pace.”
