Khorramshahr: A Symbol of Faith, Unity, and Popular Belief

According to the Center for Communications and International Relations, the Supreme National Defense University has issued a statement on the occasion of May 24 (Khordad the Third ), the anniversary of the liberation of the heroic city of Khorramshahr. The text of the statement is as follows:

In the name of God, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate.

"God liberated Khorramshahr..."

May 24 serves as a reminder of one of the most brilliant manifestations of divine support, inspirational leadership, and the epic struggle of the great Iranian nation. It is the day when the unwavering will of the Islamic fighters, blessed by faith in God, obedience to the Supreme Leader, and the heartfelt support of the people, liberated Khorramshahr from the grasp of the Ba'athist enemy, leaving history in awe.

In the liberation of Khorramshahr, everyone played a role: the Almighty God, who brought peace to hearts and steadiness to steps; Imam Khomeini (may God have mercy on him), whose unparalleled leadership infused the spirit of resistance into the nation; and the loyal people who sent their children to the front and defended the rear lines like a fortress. Khorramshahr symbolizes that when faith, unity, and popular belief come together in support of the Supreme Leader, no stronghold remains unconquerable.

Today, as the enemies of this land gather with new faces and more complex plans in the fields of soft warfare, economy, and culture, the liberation of new Khorramshahrs requires the same faith, unwavering support for the Supreme Leader, and national cohesion. Revisiting this pivotal event will aid today’s generations and the true builders of the future in understanding how to act in confrontations with the ill-wishers and enemies of our homeland. We must revive the spirit of May 24 in the fronts of scientific advancement, economic independence, cultural security, social justice, and other arenas; a spirit that believes "We can."

In commemoration of the blessed day of June 3, the anniversary of the liberation of Khorramshahr and a day of resilience, sacrifice, and victory, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to all colleagues at the Supreme National Defense University, especially to the esteemed families of martyrs, veterans, and dear disabled. I pray to the Almighty for the great Iranian nation to achieve increasing strength and honor, and for the esteemed martyrs, boundless mercy and elevated ranks.
