Congratulatory Message from the Commander of the Supreme National Defense University on the Occasion of the Birth Anniversary of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him), Pasdar’s Day; the Birth Anniversary of Hazrat Abolfazl al-Abbas (peace be upon him), Veteran

In the Name of God, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful

I extend my congratulations on the advent of the holy month of Sha‘ban, the month of compassion, supplication, prayer, and divine mercy, and its blessed occasions—particularly the auspicious birth anniversary of the Master and Leader of the Martyrs and the Free People of the world, Imam Hussein ibn Ali (peace be upon him), Pasdaran Day; the anniversary of the birth of Hazrat Abolfazl al-Abbas (peace be upon him), Veterans’ Day; as well as the birth anniversary of the Leader of the Worshippers, Imam Ali ibn al-Hussein (peace be upon him)—to my Pasdaran, veteran, and freed compatriot colleagues. Imam Hussein (peace be upon him), through his migration to Karbala and his innocent martyrdom, not only taught history the lesson of resistance against oppression and tyranny, but also, through his blood, preserved forever the exalted ideals of Islam and humanity.

He has been an unparalleled model of the pursuit of justice, patience, and the defense of the oppressed throughout history, and has delineated the clear path of guidance for future generations. Hazrat Abolfazl al-Abbas (peace be upon him), the defender of the sanctity of the Guardianship and a symbol of self-sacrifice and courage, likewise taught humanity the principles of brotherhood, propriety, and loyalty through the sacrifice of his life; and Imam Sajjad (peace be upon him), who, with virtue and nobility, embodied resistance against oppression and tyranny, and through the articulation of divine teachings, showed humankind the path to salvation.

The concurrence of these blessed occasions provides an opportunity for me, while extending my congratulations on these days, to honor and express my appreciation to all proud Pasdaran, esteemed veterans, and their respected families who, with insight, faith, and love for the homeland, have stood with courage and valor on the front lines of defending the Revolution, the system, and the exalted ideals of the two Imams of the Revolution and the revered martyrs, and who, relying on divine power and adopting prudent measures, have consistently confronted the threats and conspiracies of the enemies, thereby preserving the security and authority of the country. It is hoped that, with divine guidance and by following the teachings of the Holy Qur’an and the Alawite tradition, we may, alongside our fellow comrades across the Armed Forces, take effective steps toward strengthening and advancing the dear Islamic Iran under the benevolent attention of His Eminence the Lord of the Age (may God hasten his reappearance) and under the wise guidance and leadership of the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, Imam Khamenei (may his Glory  last long).
